Kitchen tour 2008

Our thanks to the following homeowners, chefs, and businesses who took part in this year's tour: Betty Brooks home featured caterer Lindy Rausch preparing her specialties with Roxanna's Closet providing the "craves." At the Victorian home of Glenda and Jim Milliken, chef/commercial foods teacher Greg West was cooking "up a storm," while Melanie's displayed frames, gifts, and more. Steve Sudbury served as chef at his and wife Jane's home. Beverly's Florist displayed floral goodies, and the grandchildren's playhouse was a special treat. Gene Young's Nursery once again contributed gorgeous mums which were on sale there. On the west end of town, Rick and Betsy Chase's kitchen showcased Betsy's love of Williamsburg colors and her collections of china. The Chocolate Covered Strawberry created something "sinfully" delicious, and Invitations, Etc. had wonderful wares on display. Publix prepared a wonderful recipe in the kitchen of Jeff & Peggy St. Peters and Terry & Tiffany Brown's kitchen featured September's Cafe from the Streets of Indian Lake and the always delightful Red Tulip in their colorful kitchen. "Gently used" cookbooks were on sale there. Last, but not least, Paula Johnson and Macon Dew's spacious kitchen welcomed Portland' s pride, Five Chefs restaurant and Occasions gifts to their "Texas-sized" kitchen.
The second annual Taste & See kitchen tour was a rousing success with seven incredible kitchens, each with its own unique personality. Participating chefs offered a variety of tasty treats for sampling as well as their "secret" recipes. A local business displayed its wares in each kitchen.
